I'm confused by this specimen, although Symphyotrichum is admittedly not my strong suit. The upper leaves don't seem to resemble any species I'm familiar with. iNat AI suggested S. laeve but I'm unsure.

Hundreds and hundreds, almost certainly well into the thousands, of individuals stretching up the length of the fen, both north and south of Hwy 926. This was by far the healthiest orchid population I’ve seen in the province. Along with all three sundew spp., hundreds of Cypripedium parviflorum pubescens, lots of Neottia cordata, Cardamine polemonoides (C. nymanii), hundreds of Pedicularis parviflora, and a couple healthy patches of Polygaloides paucifolia.
