Description

Growing under pine duff with Ponderosa pine. On the edge of young very thick growing pines. Growing in clumps with connected stems and singly, with the singles fully under the pine needles. Young specimens had smooth top, becoming scabrous with age. No bitter taste

Description

A small statured “augustus group”(Sect. Arvenses) fruiting beneath non-native California redwood at the Budd St. house.
Odor: strong marzipan/almond extract.
Stem: prominent bulb at extreme base.
Veil remnants adhering at cap margin(not around stipe apex).
Harvested specimen and dehydrated/bagged for my herbarium collection/genetic record.
