This is not one of the small (or large!) silver-leaf types. It is rosette and mat forming, leaves are medium green-- showing here are new leaves which are bright green, they darken a bit later. Backs of leaves are white/tomentose. It is larger in all parts than the small silvers, and flowering is earlier. Here it is a forest/edge/clearing species. This particular patch is almost beside the house, growing in a (not yet this year) mowed area along with dandelions, clover and grass as well as native Viola adunca and Fragaria virginiana, etc.
