Description
Neosalpingus seems to fit, though the antenna were odd. One was broken and the other appeared bifid (though it could have been debris of similar look). Put field note pic in to demonstrate😊
Elytra of a lovely indigo chatoyance and the thorax cerulean.

This was taken during the "turning of the fagus", at Lake Fenton, when the leaves have changed colour but before they've dropped. Quite spectacular.

Description
In saturated mud or under shallow water at the edge of a gently flowing channel in the Mersey River bed. Apparently attached to litter or fine sediments. Spores 21.5-24 x 15.5-16 microns. Images of asci and paraphyses x400, spores x1000.

Description
My favourite little parasite this season:
There were at least 2 individuals of this small braconid wasp stalking the green vegetable bugs on the Cleome in my garden. (Were they first discovered in NZ by you, Stephen?)
The first one (photos 1-7) quite obviously was successful in parasitising a bug, but the second one (photos 8-17) was never quite able to connect, despite a number of attempts.
It was fascinating to watch the behaviour. Mostly the wasps managed to stay behind the bugs, and so out of sight. However, occassionally they were rumbled and then got short shrift from the Nezara.
