My little boy spotted this "strange creature" on the path at the Tarra Bulga Visitor Information Centre yesterday.
It gave us a good show before heading into the substantial leaf litter at the side of the path.
We think it's a Strzelecki, but any thoughts or info would be appreciated. 😊

@kallies Axel, I automatically assumed that this was Persectania ewingii but something about it looked different? Possibly that the reniform mark is set further back on the wing? Anyway, I searched around and found Chabuata dentosa in MoV and it seems a good match for several specimens on here that you have identified, including the one below. Could it be that (in which case I dare say I have had it before and put it down as ewingii) or is it in fact just ewingii again?

There was a mass of this growing in the undergrowth on a banks in Fern Gully. It was about a 1 M or so in diameter from what I could tell. Would really love someone to shed some light on what this might be.

galls found on drooping mistletoe growing on allocasuarina tree.
This larvae was found on the outside of a gall (maybe emerged from hole in gall). It then pupated and a tiny grey moth emerged.
First record on March 8. Moth first noticed emerged from pupa on April 7.
