Probably a hybrid between A. crenata and A. serrata osiliensis. The color features (especially the forehead, chest stripes and t-shaped pattern), short lower appendage are more likely to correspond to A. serrata, but the cerci are not curved upwards and the costa is not bright yellow.

Odd one, settling on glacialis without double row of cells in radial planate also 2 rows of cells distal to forewing triangle. See hamule photo with ruler. Too long for frigida and hamules not right. I may be having a bit of a brain freeze with this one. @joebartok @gemelin

This is the first record of this species in West Siberia.

It flew above a small open place abou 15-20 m in diametre near a small elevation with a big power line pole, very regularily, almost by rounds, at the variable height of 2-5 m. I had no net and tried to photographically register it while flying but had an unfit camera. The sun shone though some Cirrostratus clouds which at ome monent became thicker and the sunlight faded. The dragonfly gradually lowered the height of its rounds and them landed into ruderal grass. I managed to come close and photograph it. It was frightened by me but flew only for about one meter and landed again (the photo from side view). I tried to catch it by hand, approached it for some 5 cm but my strike appeared too slow and I missed. After few minutes it appeared in air about the same place once again but after next few minutes flew high above pine crowns and disappeared.
Next two days it was not found there again.

The individual was very fresh and obviously of the recent local emergence, hence being progeny of some migrants in early summer, most probably from SE Kazakhstan.

This is half a degree southerly from the world northern record of this species being Moscow. The fact that it was noticed in Moscow and Novosibirsk, where few people live able to recognise this species while flying probably suggests that it very rarely occurs throughout the temperate zone of Russia but remain unnoticed.
