Caps approx 2-3cm diameter. In dry leaf litter under blackberry
Found in a rock and tussock field at about 1800m - possibly the highest record for this species. Second photo shows the 3 supraocular scales. Assisting Mr Knox on a herp survey.
Found roosting in tussock at night at 1500m. Often seen flying during the day.
On Raoulia in Mahaka Katia Scientific Reserve
On rotting wood; Gametophyte branching; dimidiate leaves; leaf margins toothed; double teeth present; leaf attachments to stem are decurrent
Juvenile NZ Falcon, very confiding seen at various times over 10 days and also seen begging from a parent.
In cultivation
Alpine shrubland.
leaflets toothed, glaucous and hairy on both surfaces. Tight globose inflorescence. Fruit has spines with barbed tips.
