Burn ecology under knobcone pine, found in disjoint patches on north (and NE) facing slopes. Heavy rain last Sunday despite it not showing up on national weather service. Only found in areas moist enough to support shrubs seen in picture, duff intact with grasses and mosses present.

NOTE Single GYROMITRA ESCULENTA (reddish in center of hat photo) was found within most abundant patch. Take care!
