Reared from Drymaria cordata.

Found on 8/3 in a small leaf shelter (one of two larvae collected). Larvae appear to prefer feeding on new growth near the ends of the plant. Pairs of opposing leaves are tied together to make leaf shelters and the larvae feed from inside the shelter. Frass is retained in the shelter. Larvae window-mine in early instars but consume the entirety of the leaves and some of the petiole and main stem when larger. Larvae also appear to be sticky, as in their bodies adhered to surfaces and they weren’t as squirmy as other crambid larvae tend to be. The larva pupated on 8/8 within a new pair of leaves that were tied into a tight cone, which differed from normal feeding shelters where the larvae tied the opposite leaves flat against each other (and this was true for both larvae). The adult eclosed 8/15.
