Description
Mating in action! I saw the female first as she withdrew from a flower. Then out of nowhere the male flew in and wrestled with her inside the flower for 30 seconds and mated!
The flower is The Great Waterleaf, Hydrophyllum appendiculatum, in my urban native plant garden.

Description
Can it be? M. septendecula in my backyard where I have only documented septendecim and cassinii? Its call is a soft repeated chirp. It is small, like cassinii.
