Второй год подряд наблюдаю массовый лёт Micropeza, происходящий в течение одного дня. В этом году данное событие совпало с понижением температуры до 12 градусов С в тени, что вызвало "выпадение в осадок" обычно гиперактивных двукрылых - множество мух сидело на траве относительно спокойно.
For the second year in a row I have seen a massive Micropeza flight taking place within one day. This year, the event coincided with a drop in temperature to 12 degrees C in the shade, which caused the usually hyperactive dipterans to "precipitate" - many flies sat relatively quietly on the grass.

Description
First Canadian record of family/species, Epipyropidae/Fulgoraecia exigua.
Found Acanalonia conica with white growth on side of abdomen. I thought it was a fungus but it is actually a fuzzy looking caterpillar/larva, feeding on the planthopper.

Description
A small fly about 6 mm long with long legs. Several of them landed on wet stones on the edge of the creek, then, surprisingly, landed on the water and skated about for a minute before taking off again.
