This was a bizarre observation! A cluster f***. My first robberflies of the year, wish I had my camera in better mode. Appeared to be a pair of hanging-thieves mating, while the female is also eating what looks like a large robberfly. I'm curious if what is visible in the several photos, along with the early date, can help ID the pair and the prey. I can add the prey as a second observation if warranted.

Almost palm-sized with legs. It was living in a crack in the exterior of the fee booth building, quite a ways from any water. As I got it into a container to move it, it screamed loudly, enough that the whole container vibrated. Is living in a building crack away from water normal for fishing spiders, assuming this is one?

This bat was foraging over the Feather River and over the road during mid-day. It then landed on a rock low on a road cut and hung upside down on the rock (in the sun). When we returned later, it was gone.
