Up to five tui at a time trying to drink from a sugar-water feeder. Some are also feeding from nearby Fuschia procumbens and Phormium cookianum flowers.
Three pairs and a banded stranger from out of town. First time I've seen a NZ dotterel with bands in Taranaki. The local dotterels chased it away up the beach.
