Small, black, circular, hard lumps on bark layer, seemingly endophytic in behavior. By far the most common fungus in the Baccharis pilularis stands

Smell like radish

Description

Salt Point State Park, near Central Trail. Mixed confier/hardwood coastal forest; Sequoia sempervirens, Abies grandis, Pseudotsuga menziesii, Notholithocarpus densiflorus, Pinus muricata, Arbutus menziesii
Growing on a well rotted and de-barked Notholithocarpus densiflorus
Tiny, pea sized orange pleurotoid fungus. Laterally attached stipe with distantly spaced, subdecurrent lamellae. Pileus striate, so thin you can almost see through it. Reduced stipe covered in tiny white hairs.
No noticeable smell, taste mild

Description

Trailside with Heteromeles arbutifolia, Adenostoma fasciculatum, Malosma laurina. Closely resembled Clitocybe nuda, but white with faint yellow staining on cap, very faint pink tone on stipe top with same texture as C. nuda. Odorless.

Description

With Pinus coulteri. Common.

Odor of toasted coconut, faintly spermatic.

Pileus fibrillose, golden brown, darker toward center; margins entire to rimose. Young gills faintly greenish yellow.

Stipe solid, the color of aged bone (incarnate), not bruising; caulocystidia along the full length, slightly more dense at apex; base bulbous with flat bottom, emarginate with cortina attached to pileus.

Pleurocystidia variably slender to broadly fusoid metuloids or with with irregular club-like protrusions, one or two (“rabbit ears”). With clamp connections.
Spores nodulose.
