Description
Very large, at least 7", found on tree trunk in broad daylight, slowly making its way along, almost oblivious. Found in upland forest. Assuming genus Scolopendra, maybe one of the S. subspinipes subspecies?

Description
赤目のアブラゼミ。見たことが無かったので撮ったものです。死期が近づくと目が赤くなる個体があるという説もあり、実際に死に際でしたが、どうなんでしょうか?
Red eyed individual variation. I took it because it was rare. There is also the theory that as the death phase approaches, the eyes turn red. It was just before death. Is that true?

Description
Same spot as Tuesday, but this one has the full flagellum. These seem to be somewhat common at BFL--I saw them down closer to the river as well in a completely different soil type.
