What kind of skull might this be? Bobcat? Juvenile cougar? Just a domestic cat?
Found far off a path at about 100 m elevation in a typical coastal western hemlock forest
Some kind of carnivore skull found in a pile of miscellaneous bones. Seemed too long to be a cat.
The last photo shows a small dip near the front of the nose. I think that identifies a fox skull. Here we see the skull without the lower jaw, the spine plus tail, and one leg with claw. The back of the skull slopes down, which I think identifies fox, rather than elongated which is coyote. It is quite small, so I think grey fox rather than red fox. Would appreciate your insight.
Found in bush a few meters down a slope from path overlooking a pond.
