Moose scat on the side of otter creek rd at 1360m elevation. Habitat surrounding the road has lots of willow, subalpine fir; one side of the road is uphill slope with heavy erosion, other side is downhill with heavier vegetation. Pellets are approximately 2cm, oblong, reddish brown, and quite old.
Ruby Mountain north slope at 1550m elevation. Substrate is mostly rocky with thin clay topsoil. Sparse, surrounded by poacea spp., mountain avens, and crow berry. Occurring above the treeline. Approx. 6cm tall with lots of individual flowers.
1650m elevation, sunny, moderate wind, approx 68F in rocky terrain with significant lichen cover. No other wintergreens observed in the area. Flowering stem is approx 4cm with basal leaves. Observed on the high point of the mountain, surrounding vegetation is mostly Lingonberry, buttercups, and small grasses.
These individuals are observed in a small cluster at 1340m elevation. Observed close to treeline, not gilled. Surrounding veg includes low scrub birch (hip height), willow, mat saxifrage, low bush blueberry.
1310m elevation, rare abundance on el dorado trail, first observation since low elevation start. Surrounding veg is scrub birch, subalpine fir, crowberry, arctic lupine, significant moss and lichen ground cover.
Observed around treeline of Cathedral mountain, where a stream has moved to overground flow. Around 1250m elevation. Surrounding vegetation includes alpine lupine, four corner mountain heather, small subalpine fir, and an unknown pink paintbrush.
This tiny jelly fungus was observed 2meters from the lakeshore near Cathedral Mountain at about 700m elevation. It's at the entrance to a dense forest of lodgepole pine and subalpine fir. Surrounding vegetation includes fireweed, arctic lupine, bear berry, and willow.
Moose scat observed on the lakefront at 677m elevation. Approx 20m from the lake in a fairly dense stand of subalpine fir and lodgepole pine. Scat looks relatively fresh and other piles are in scattered an abundance in the area. Surrounding vegetation includes willow, bear berry, fireweed, alpine lupine, and significant moss and lichen ground cover.
Observed at 1450m elevation, above Idaho Peak treeline. surrounding vegetation is dominantly scrub birch, unalaskan paintbrush, crowberry, willow. This is the first observation of this species along the trail, and a few more individuals were observed at higher elevations, though in rare abundance.
Observed at 1400m elevation around treeline of Idaho Peak. 2 separate individuals documented in photos, about 1 meter apart. Moderate rain and complete cloud cover. Surrounding vegetation includes small subalpine fir, fireweed, carrot family, scrub birch, poaceae species, and hip-height willow.
1288m elevation, in a small meadow area uphill to a creek. Surrounding vegetation is primarily dense grasses, willow, and scrub birch. Monkshoods are observed in rare abundance in the grassy area. Sunny and approx 20C with moderate wind.
Moose scat. Side of Otter Creek Rd. 1360m elevation. Willow and subalpine fir on either side of road. Road located on a slope, uphill side with erosion, downhill side to marshy area and river. Mainstem of river at bottom of valley ~400m downslope. Scat is oblong and reddish/brownish, appears old.
Unknown lilaceae? Rare to very rare. Below treeline. 4520ft elev. other vegetation includes subalpine fir, fireweed, Alaskan paintbrush, scrub birch, Willow.
Scat found on the side of otter creek road at 1360m elevation. Habitat on the side of the road has a lot of willow and sub alpine fur trees. One side of the road slopes uphill and the other side slopes steeply downhill. 400m uphill from a stream. Pellets about 2cm and oblong. Reddish black and old.
North slope of Ruby mountain at 1550M. Rocky clay with little top soil. Sparsely dispersed. Near crowberry and poaceae spp.. above the tree line. About 6cm tall with lots of individual flowers.
On a windy mountain side near rock outcrops and scree. Also near grassy patches. Surrounded by a lot of lichen and other alpine plants/ wildflowers. About 5-10 cm tall.
Dead moose carcass found in a lake near a creek. Possibly died further up the mountain and got washed into the lake due to high rain and flooding. Several broken legs.
Located in a grassy area in a scree patch. About 5-7 cm tall and near other wildflower species. Grassy patch surrounded by scree. Common throughout the mountainside.

Dam built by beavers along atv trail. Dam caused major flooding of the trail heading south. Beaver lodge nearby but no beavers sighted.
Located in a tree on the side of the road in a pull off. Near lots of wildflowers and grasses. Possibly feeding on a leaf when picked up.
Moose scat on the side of otter creek. Willow and sub alpine fur present on either side of the road. Marsh and river 400 meters away from the scat to the north. Scat is 2.5 centimeters long.
Yellow moth surrounded by clovers and grasses. Still alive but did not stir when I came up on it.
12 centimeters in height. Rocky ground, grass only other plant growing.
Found on side of 4 wheeler track very disturbed area. 26 centimeters in height.
Arctic lupin. Recent rain the lupin seems to collect the droplets in the middle of the petals.
1700m elevation. Surrounded by grasses with some crow berry near. 10 centimeters from ground no berrys present.
