I was on a Snowy Plover Beach Survey and my partner pointed out this bird; it is about the size of a Sanderling, but slightly differently colored and it behaved differently as well. Grey back, white breast, black legs, bill a little longer than a Sanderling's.
Nesting about 5ft from the path, just 4ft off the ground.
