Putting the bear here as a placeholder so someone can help me identify who actually left it. This was found on a hiking trail deep into Muir Woods. It had been broken apart and scattered (there was more than just what is pictured).

Posted this on two tracking sites- feedback favored bear but not by a majority. Over-marking was suggested- maybe raccoon feces on top of bobcat, could be badger...

Pink from berries? (there were ripe Rubus ursinus... ursinus!!)
Photo with thumb and pinkie spread- from outside of fingers 8", from outside of pinkie to first knuckle is 4.5", at this angle thumb is 7/8" across
I should have checked at the time but the first reaction was, That's bear scat! and it overrode caution, but there aren't other tracks here. But it also gets up to Beaufort 6-8 out here on a regular basis
So posting as bear for now until I get more feedback
(and yes I used hand sanitizer after haha)
