I observed 10 individuals, although there are likely many more. I didn't really scan the area.
A paler yellow than those elsewhere on the trail.
Old photos of a small garter snake I spotted— we have seen larger snakes in the area before, so I'm guessing this one was a juvenile. The body was probably only about two feet in length. It had yellow stripes with a dark grayish body, I didn't notice any other obvious colors. There are both open fields and mixed/evergreen forests in the area.

Told this was blunt-leaved bog orchid.
