A squirrel🐿️(1/2)
Many Black willows along the coastline of Hempstead Lake
Calyx lobes longer than the fruit (this rules out Lycopus uniflorus). Long stamens extending out of the floral tube (this rules out Lycopus virginicus). Stem not very hairy (this rules out Lycopus asper). I don't have photos of the lower leaves, but they should be deeply lobed, which distinguishes this species from most of the other Lycopus species.
big girl, wanted to rub her tooth on my finger.
good boy came in through the window,
rotund tabby with very pretty colouring
Black morph squirrel. I find the sharp screeching sounds between seconds 30 and 40 especially interesting - ones that I am not sure I've heard before
About 5 feet tall. Most flowers have fewer than 10 leafy bracts. Leaves compound. Few if any ray flowers. Closeups of Fisk flowers are shown. Growing in a pile of rocks that was dumped here when they renovated the walkway.
