Br has a distinctive long white supercilium and blackish ear-coverts. Washed buffy-orange below, with white patches on wing-coverts and at either side of tail base. Non-br , and 1st winter resemble Common Stonechat: best distinguished by a well-defined buffy supercilium and white base to the outer-tail. HH winter visitor and Palearctic passage migrant from Oct-Apr which can be common in the west. Sits on small bushes and trees within grasslands and cultivated areas. Vo usually silent, but may sing a similar song to Common Stonechat
