failed to get a context photo but last images taken within 40 seconds show habitat - regen kauri forest here dominated by rawirinui and ponga with decaying Hakea sericea, and kauri-associated understorey and groundcover spreading from adjacent older areas of succession
Ground cover not the kawakawa.
wlld seedling under naturaised Carex flagellifera under puriri, mahoe and pohutukawa on outer forest margin
Very robust with strong flexible stem
Too big for pohutukawa?
Approx 10 scattered plants
Crook looking broom covered in a sooty black 75% of the plant. Small shell type things over plants that are effected. Very dense covering of these ‘shell’ type bugs all over sick broom plants.
Climbing plant up several native trees. Hope somebody can identify it from these photos.
Not sure. Prunus?
Also known as Tagasaste or tree lucerne
we found these plants in the area of lake heron I was of the understanding it was Carmichaelia grandiflora but I cannot find any pictures to compare
