With Valeri Ponzo; our second visit to this small state park -- and we're glad that we stopped by! The weather was sunny, warm, and humid, with calm winds.
The absolute highlight of teh visit was a magnificent 4-foot Eastern Diamondback that others on the trail warned us about. Of course, I ran to the spot. When we got to the area, we didn't see anything, but "cicadas" were really loud. After several seconds, we realized that the "cicadas" were the rattlesnake rattling; we were within 15 feet of it! It was an amazing experience. We left at 1854 and headed to Spring Hill.
