for me Colobopsis being here is weird. Colobopsis is Tropic-subtropic in my head. same goes to those C. mississippiensis casually being in New York. Actually both winter ant species also. I guess only the cold adapted species had spread out of Asia but still, makes me feel funny

I'd say cinerea but this region is part of where cinerea and selysi hybridize which the hybirds are known to resemble cinerea more than the other, so I'd rather not id it to the species.

This colony seemed to be the type that does not carry any host workers and instead spawn smaller workers
for me ligniperda always look hairy than what I expect. Them I see a herculeanus and "ooh that was ligniperda"
