Milano TX Suburbs: 2017 Spring BioBlitz

Looks too "tight and slim headed" to be Canadian rye.
Was deleting extraneous photos on my desktop computer tonight and came across photos of a bird I had not ID'd or entered as an iNat observation.
I added tonight because I am curious as to a possible ID.
At first, I thought Northern mockingbird, but the mottling on the breast does not fit.
Another WOW!!! moment for me...
but my mind just went blank... AGAIN!
Made a quick plant survey at Rockdale Veteran's Park during grandson's birthday party with his T-Ball friends.
@sambiology do you know this flower? There were several patches of it in Port Bolivar and Great Southern Whites loved it!

Please help identify this very early bloomer. It was transplanted from the bank of a seasonal creek in western Mason County, TX. In full bloom on Jan 24.
Yesterday this Ilex vomitoria was covered with Cedar Waxwings enjoying the berries. This is the yellow-berried yaupon I bought years ago. It is much more productive than the red.
