Likely Holophygdon nishidae based on https://www.eje.cz/pdfs/eje/1999/04/17.pdf
Single, paying close attention to this ornamental shrub (no idea what the ornamental is). Before exciting over a fence and from view.
First time I have seen one of these - this was close to my home so I'm local to the area.
Seen in Waihi resting on a willow tree - possibly attracted by the honeydew secreted by Giant Willow Aphids present. Introduced into NZ as a biocontrol agent for Japanese Honeysuckle. First released into the Karangahake Gorge (between Waihi and Paeroa) in 2014.
Landed in a magnolia before flying to a Pahutakawa and staying there for about 10 minutes
