1st thought upon sighting these was "Corallorhiza". Took careful close-up scrutiny (on elbows and knees, butt up in air) before making this ID.
Growing in shade in a fairly young tropical hammock woodland. Thanks to Roger Hammer for bringing me to this site.

The Tybee Causeway is a death zone for these. I saw more than 15 dors in less than a mile. Sucks that nothing is being done besides two signs.
