'Not sure how this is best posted to iNat. Obviously a mule deer, but I'm posting it as evidence of a mountain lion/mountain lion feeding (possibly kill) site.
Photo of tracks at this kill site posted as a separate observation (https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/138907514).
Location approximately .75 miles from mountain lion trail camera observations on 10.7.22 (https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/137941025) and 10.13.22 (https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/138726512)
[see my 10.18.22 Comment on my changes to this observation; I'm leaving the original information]
sad, study subject with radio collar, HoopaM2, dying, necropsy included found trace rodenticides from exposure in illegal grow sites in forests http://www.iercecology.org/project/cannabisandcarnivores/
Growing on a cut live oak with other (https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/30067456 and https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/30068128) fungi. I really wish that I had taken some shots with a macro lens to see what was going on.
