Eastern box turtle
Found at night during the amphibian migration. Damp, somewhat rainy night with temperatures in the high 50s. Found on the road near a bog type environment.
Hollow stems. Veins create ridged sides. Pulls apart at nodes. Strobili at top of stem. Whorled leaves at each node
Very small plant with basal growth. No flowers. Leaves are deeply lobed with tiny hairs at the apex of lobes but otherwise smooth margins
