In the process of being formally described. A distinct and separate species from the black eyed gecko. This sub adult is the 22nd of the species recorded. Found at 1500m in a rough boulder field. Assisting Mr Knox on a herpetological survey.

couple of large prints on numerous "pig made" trails
I've never seen so much pig damage — this particular spot was probably 100 m² of bracken clearing turned to complete carnage, and there were parts alongside multiple stretches of the track that were so badly rooted that it looked like some sort of highly selective landslide had happened. I suppose that comes after the next big rain...
Passed two lads with rifles who looked to be going after deer; funnily enough I saw almost no browse damage to any of the tender understorey plants that they usually prefer, so might not be a very productive hunt for them!
