What a serendipitious find! I was (unsuccessfully) chasing down Carolina Grasshoppers, and while I was knelt down near some weeds, I saw a gray-ish blur land in front of me. At first I thought it was a moth, but it quickly dawned on me that it was a hairstreak butterfly so I hurriedly got my camera and took as many photos I could before it flew away. What a wonderful find, my first time ever seeing S. melinus!
