Two frb associated with beech (Nothofagus truncata). Larger than a golf ball but smaller than a tennis ball.

Yellow colors / tones. No evidence of color change with handling, no blues tones. No evidence of a stipe or pseudostipe

Has a structure with air gaps between the folds / fruit body material. Slight spicy aroma.

Dark color of inside so not russula. Color is rich brown, which indicates Gallacea over Hysterangium.

If the key of 3 species for Gallacea is still current (1994) it is G. eburnea as this is the only one that is light colored and associated with beech. Unfortunately G. eburnea in biotanz doesn't look like this, being full of jelly, whereas this is relatively dry on the inside. However not all are jelly like, and I wonder if this characteristic changes with age.
