New Zealand species edit-a-thon at Ōtari-Wilton's Bush, Wellington - 19 October and 2 November

Join us for a fun, hands-on New Zealand Species Edit-a-thon at Ōtari-Wilton’s Bush, proudly supported by Wikimedia Aotearoa New Zealand and Wellington City Council Wellington Gardens. Whether you're new to Wikipedia or a seasoned editor, this event, held from 10am – 4pm over two Saturdays (19 October and 2 November), is a fantastic opportunity to enhance your skills while contributing to the world's most comprehensive encyclopedia.

Guided by experienced Wikipedians, you'll have the chance to improve articles focused on New Zealand's unique native flora and fauna. Bring your own laptop, and we'll provide all the training and resources you need to get started on day 1 and extend your skills and contributions on day 2.

Unlock the wonders of New Zealand's biodiversity and collaborate with fellow nature enthusiasts. Together, we'll explore, learn, and share the beauty of our native plants and animals with the world. Come along for a rewarding experience that blends education, fun, discovery, and community spirit!

If you are interested in participating in the event to learn how to edit Wikipedia pages for NZ species (including how to easily upload openly-licensed iNaturalist photos into Wikipedia), you can RSVP at this Humanitix link (note spaces are limited):
https://events.humanitix.com/2024-nz-species-edit-a-thon

The $10 registration fee includes morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea on both days!

We'd love to see you there.
