I'm a USDA-ARS biologist based in Logan, Utah, USA, in the Pollinating Insect Research Unit (PIRU). Current projects include locating a rare poppy-specialist bee, Perdita meconis, which is limited to the eastern Mojave desert region. Known P. meconis hosts include Papaveraceae species in the genera Arctomecon and Argemone. Eschscholzia species are of special interest in 2024.
