I've been interested in insects ever since I can remember. At the age of 7 I started breeding butterflies, beetles and occasionally other insects as well.
In 2018, I started a BSc in Biology, followed up by a MSc degree in Evolutionary Biology, at the University of Groningen (NL). During my studies, I've worked on research about the evolution of cave beetles in Europe and the evolution of fungal pathogen resistance against Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis in the poison dart frog Dendrobates auratus in Panama.

Next to my studies, I've worked as an ecological consultant, focusing on bat research as well as insect monitoring projects.
Now that I've graduated, I started a job as DNA specialist at the Dutch water management institute, utilizing eDNA to map fish communities and other species groups.

In my spare time, I like doing macro photography and traveling, as well as more non-nature related subjects like gaming, watching movies/series, playing piano, 3d-printing and metal casting :p
