(he/him)

Located in the Minneapolis, MN area; regularly dreaming of South/Central American rainforests.

Former entomophobe who came to love insects by way of learning - first by reading titles like Parasite Rex and For Love of Insects, then by macro photography. Insects helped me build an appreciation for other parts of our world - plants, birds, even viruses. My first and strongest love is for parasitic wasps and all the insane things they do in their biological arms races. Also, I did always enjoy Alien as a kid...

I'm here because I care about documenting biodiversity. I hope we humans find ways to value and respect all forms of life, and building communities like this seems like an important step. Things I get the most enjoyment from include:

  • Documenting interactions between multiple species
  • Seeing changes in a location throughout the year
  • Discovering details and organisms in photos that I missed in person

I'm trying to become more familiar with wasp taxonomy and identification - Heather Holm's guide to Eastern North American Wasps has been a favorite resource and inspiration for me. I'm grateful for all who have shared their knowledge and resources in identification. I'm always interested in talking and learning about wasps and other arthropods, parasites, even photography. Hoping I can do my part to support the iNaturalist community!

Oh, I suppose I am a software developer, too. But I prefer to spend time with the non-computer bugs.
