Hello! My name is James, but I also frequently go by Kes. My pronouns are he/him/his. I've always been interested in nature, and have always loved birds, but I only started "officially" birding in fall of 2021. I have spent a lot of time learning bird ID and am always trying to improve. Please call me out on my mistakes! Can't learn without 'em. I am based in Southern California and am most familiar with the birds and other organisms there.

In addition to a birder and an amateur photographer, I am also an environmental educator, isopod keeper, and an artist.

I enjoy going through people's photography and often favorite observations that I think are particularly cool or have stunning photos.
