I became enthralled by the natural world surrounding me as a child.
I was in the Boy Scouts for years where I was introduced to hiking, backpacking and caving.
My parents encouraged this with family camping trips.
I majored in Zoology in college and planned on becoming a marine biologist but ultimately entered the medical field as a physician.
This gave me the opportunity to relocate to the semi rural of the Lakes Region where I practiced for 30 years.
I continued to love the outdoors and “nature” and was able to retire at a relatively young age to spend further time exploring this beautiful amazing world around us.
I thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail in 2021 and the Colorado Trail in 2023 which further expanded my love for everything alive and wild.
I would consider myself a generalist and enjoy learning new things.
iNaturalist and it’s members have helped me expand my knowledge and understanding of the natural world and hopefully I, among countless others can help to protect and preserve it for the future.
