I am a researcher at the University of Basel, Switzerland, and I primarily work on the evolutionary biology of hermaphroditic animals. My main study organisms are free-living flatworms of the genus Macrostomum and other Macrostomorpha, an early-branching taxon of the Platyhelminthes. But other flatworm groups are of course cool as well, and I often encounter them when I hunt for Macrostomum species. More generally, I also love marine invertebrates, reef fishes, and more recently, plants.
