I am an entomologist based in South Africa who has worked on gall-forming insects, African silk moths, crop pollination and invasive social wasps.

iNaturalist is a fantastic platform to capture biodiversity data which I aim to promote as much as possible. I am currently an associate of the National Institute of Theoretical and Computational Science in South Africa who's core values are open access data and multidisciplinary study to produce cutting edge science. Research linked to insect ecology and economics (beneficial and pestiferous) makes me tick. I also believe raising the awareness on the importance of taxonomy is the only way to save this increasingly scarce skill. iNaturalist and citizen science is a great vehicle to achieve this.
