Avid Birder, lover of butterflies, dragonflies, flora, critters and all nature!

I've been a backyard birder since I was a small child, thanks to my father's passion for backyard nature. I always thought I would take up "birdwatching" when I retired. However, upon a divorce at middle age, I thought "why wait" and started a passion for birds and all natural creatures and never looked back. It's been close to 35 years now and as I look back on all my adventures and the friends I have made over the years, it was an excellent choice.

There are only a few countable Ohio species that I have not seen as yet. My current Ohio lifelist is 362 species.

I currently serve for the Ohio Ornithological Society as President, newsletter editor and chairperson of the Youth Education Committee. I served as President of The Wilderness Center Bird Club in Wilmot, OH for around 15 years and newsletter editor for around 30 years, just recently stepping down from both.
