Very fortunate to have grown up with easy access to public wild spaces and cultivated a deep interest in nature. My primary interest and work is focused on using sound as a way to monitor and understand biodiversity. I curate records in eBird and the Colorado Bird Records Committee, and annotate bird sounds to help the Merlin app. But besides sounds, I'm particularly interested in evolution, hybridization, and migration in birds, and besides birds am relatively well-versed in North American plants and marine mollusks. I primarily use iNaturalist as a tool to document and learn unfamiliar plants.

Not everyone grows up with easy access to nature, and I think citizen-science projects like iNaturalist do a good job of making nature accessible and inclusive to all. So happy to be a part of the community.
