I started using iNaturalist to document weeds and to improve my identification skills of grasses and agricultural/ruderal weeds.

I work at AgResearch as a weed science technician. So, I am mostly familiar with arable and pasture weeds. The main thing I have worked on is herbicide-resistant weeds. Unfortunately, most of the time (for an exception see Onehunga weed) you can't tell simply by looking at them whether they are resistant!

I am interested in: exotic herbs and grasses, especially Amaranthus and Panicoideae. I also am trying to decipher bamboos using the iNaturalist project 'Bamboozled'. As for other taxa: one day I want to start learning birds... but for now I am sticking to plants.
