Parabéns a São Paulo! Graç...

Journal Test

This is a test to see how journals work on here! I think this could be a good way to update participants and encourage people, plus maybe link to the socials posts. We can also give updates like 1 week remaining etc.

Fatsia japonica - growing outdoors

A fantastic and impressive example of Fatsia japonica (Araliaceae) (Japan and South Korea) observed growing outdoors (in the U.K.). Commonly known as the castor oil plant or fig leaf palm, it grows up to 4m in a decade. An evergreen shrub with 7-8 dicotyledonous splayed, leathery, palmately lobed leaves, and small white flowers in terminal compound umbels, it produces a beautiful cluster of ornamental, non-edible black berries. It grows well in moist and well-drained soils in partial sha...

Spiders

Spiders, but also unknown flying objects, have never been my friends - ok at a distance (social distancing), but not so cool too close.
Since I started using iNaturalist, I've been outside a lot more often and exploring nature (I think you can also see that in the number of observations 😜). But for the last few weeks I've been particularly fond of spiders and I can't get enough of them, especially the jumping spiders are so cute with their lovely faces.
I think exploring nature h...
