Western tiger salamander. Found in a salt water backyard swimming pool. Moved to a natural freshwater wetlands nearby.
Accuracy about 1.5 mi. Coordinates are for center of town, not private property.

Large adult male dark-phase "blairi" morph collected on a rock face off US Hwy 90 by John O. Hollister and me. Size at collection more than one meter in length. Month and year accurate, date is approximate.

Description
This is one of my favorite observations. I drove up on this snake that had a toad in its mouth. When I got out to take pictures, it pushed the toad across the road. When it got to the edge, it threw its body up the side of a sand ledge and pulled the toad up. It was quite incredible to watch.

Description
A male Prosopocoilus Stag Beetle attracted to the lights of the dining hall one night. 45mm in length until the mandible tip. Brownish orange body, color darkens towards the head. Similar species - P. suturalis / sturalis, P. kannegieteri and P. astacoides except there is a difference at the mandible teeth.
