Phlegra lineata and Phlegra theseusi (Salticidae)

The Jumping-spider record at https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/241642594 (see photo below) has been identified as being possibly Phlegra lineata or (unlikely) Phlegra theseusi. Information about these species is difficult to find online, and the following links are relevant.

P. lineata and P. theseusi are both illustrated here (Metzner):

Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phlegra_(spider) mentions these:

  • "P. lineata (C. L. Koch, 1846) – Southern Europe, Turkey, Syria, Russia (Caucasus)"

Description

Seen on a beach of round grey pebbles in eastern Crete. (The pebbles are in photo 9.)

This looks similar to some records of Phlegra bresnieri, but Inaturalist and GBIF have no records of that species in the Aegean archipelago.

The yellow stripe looks wider than in most records of Phlegra bresnieri.

Additional note (17 Sep 2024):
Following @esant's comments below regarding Phlegra lineata and Phlegra theseusi, as information about those species is difficult to find I have assembled links to photos and other information relevant to Phlegra lineata and Phlegra theseusi in a Journal post here: https://www.inaturalist.org/journal/cf125/98877-phlegra-lineata-and-phlegra-theseusi-salticidae
